Reviews

Cloud Nine - Ye Olde Rose & Crown, Walthamstow

‘Philip Simon meanwhile conveys two equally sinister characters playing with an undercurrent of sheer malice in an intelligent and unmissable performance.’ (Melissa Rynn, StageWon)

Peppa Pig's Party - No.1 UK Tour & West End

‘Cast members cleverly play their roles using a range of puppets. Their expertise in doing so means that the children simply accept their presence on stage and believe in the characters they operate. Phil Adele, Kerry Gooderson, Philip Simon and Keddy Sutton should also be praised for their brilliant voice work.’ (Lisa Martland, The Stage)

'I wasn't surprised that the biggest shout went up not for Peppa but for the iconic Daddy Pig [Philip Simon]- who got the adults (especially the mums) chuckling with his boasts of being an expert at whatever he was just about to fail to accomplish.' (Simon Jary, blog.reallykidfriendly.com)

'Children, and indeed parents, across Britain will probably want to see this man.' (Jewish Chronicle)

'I particularly enjoyed the performance of Philip Simon who played Daddy Pig amongst other roles.' (Robin Marsland, thepublicreviews.com)

Cinderella - Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury

'But above all else, this is a well acted panto with a Buttons (Philip Simon) who certainly lives up to the things shown in his programme CV.' (Richard Edmonds, The Stage)

'Star of the show, we felt, was Philip Simon as Buttons. He is a wonderful children's entertainer and projected a terrifically likeable personality across the footlights.' (Avril Hemingfield, Crackerjack Gloucestershire)

Aladdin – Radlett Centre, Radlett

‘Of the cast, Wishee Washee (Philip Simon) and Abanazar (Nathanial Gibbs) received the most attention, instantly gaining gleeful participation from the audience... filling the room with semi-constant bubbles of laughter.' (Filip Hnizdo, Watford Observer)

Cinderella - Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury

'Absolutely top of the pops, however, was Philip Simon as Buttons, a truly bouncing bonny friend to all, though his love for Cinders is unrequited. This is a lovely performance with such stage presence.' (Paul Downey, The Stage)

A Midsummer Night's Dream - GSA

'The evening was one of pure enchantment. The fight scene where the two girls try to get at each other and their lovers [Philip Simon & James Cook] try to hold them back was achingly funny...I can't remember enjoying a production of Dream so much.' (Margaret Burgess, The Surrey Advertiser)

GSA Agent Showcase - Cochrane Theatre, London

'Philip Simon was never less than hilarious...Great one liners and impressive timing...and that feel-good factor washed over the audience.' (Derek Smith, The Stage)
